Important: These Terms form an agreement between you and Lorebraid. By creating an account, connecting an identity provider, purchasing a product, or using the hosted service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
Acceptance and adult eligibility
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to Lorebraid at lorebraid.com. “Lorebraid,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the service operated by the owner of lorebraid.com. “You” means the individual using the service.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live if higher, and legally capable of entering this agreement. You must explicitly confirm that you are at least 18 before you can create a character, enter or resume a story, generate content, or purchase a product. Lorebraid records the version and time of that agreement but does not collect your date of birth or request an identity document by default. An account without a current confirmation cannot use those protected features. You may not use Lorebraid where prohibited by law.
The service and AI-generated content
Lorebraid is an AI-assisted interactive-fiction companion. It preserves Journeys and story state, generates narrative and Suggested Moves, applies authored story mechanics and safety rules, and may generate or retain character and scene images.
AI systems are probabilistic. Text or images may be inaccurate, inconsistent, repetitive, offensive, incomplete, visually defective, refused by a provider, or unexpectedly similar to material generated for others. Outputs are not professional, legal, medical, financial, or factual advice. Rights in AI-generated material vary by jurisdiction and may not be exclusive. We do not promise that an output is protectable, unique, non-infringing, or suitable for commercial use.
Lorebraid may enforce canon, character agency, story mechanics, progression limits, provider rules, and safety boundaries rather than follow every requested outcome. A player’s description of success does not make that result canon unless the Story resolves and commits it.
Accounts and account merge
You must provide accurate account information, maintain control of your email and connected identity providers, protect your credentials, and notify [email protected] promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You may not sell, rent, share, or transfer your account to another person.
Accounts may support password and Google sign-in. Email equality alone never attaches or merges identities. An Account Merge requires recent authentication of both accounts, a preview of every material consequence, selection of the surviving account and any continuing renewal, and explicit irreversible confirmation. The merge preserves Journeys and financial provenance. Paid Subscription time not kept as the continuing renewal may become separately expiring Merge Allowance; it does not become Subscription Quota, permanent Credits, or cash. A completed merge cannot be split.
Your Lorebraid account identity—not a Link payer email—owns its Journeys, private media, allowance, checkout history, and Billing Identity. Payments cannot be reassigned to another account merely because an email address matches.
Your stories and content
You retain whatever rights you lawfully hold in prompts, original story material, images, characters, and other content you submit (“User Content”). You represent that you own or have permission to use User Content and that processing it as described here will not infringe another person’s rights or violate law.
You grant Lorebraid a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, transmit, and process User Content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, improve, or comply with law regarding the service. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except for protected backups and records retained for billing, security, fraud prevention, disputes, legal compliance, or deletion audit.
Lorebraid does not claim ownership of your private story merely because it is stored by the service. Authorized administrators may access private content only for the purposes and under the private auditing controls described in the Privacy Policy. Reader-facing records identify an administrative actor only as Admin.
Committed story scenes and canonical records are protected from direct rewriting. Where available, a Canon Correction Request may repair clear archive drift or place an uncertain claim in dispute for audited review without erasing the historical record.
Adult and sensitive content
Adult Romance Eligibility
Romantic or sexual content is allowed only when every participant is confidently established in Story canon as at least 18 and otherwise an adult. Lorebraid considers chronology, adult role, and established history; appearance or a player assertion alone is not enough. Minors, fantasy species treated as underage, age-regressed characters, and unresolved or ambiguous adulthood are ineligible. The player cannot override this decision. Ineligible material is blocked or redirected without eroticizing the character.
Restrained Adult Eroticism
Eligible fictional adults may appear in consensual, sensual, emotionally grounded, story-relevant prose. Lorebraid does not permit graphic anatomical detail, explicit penetration mechanics, sexual fluids, or prolonged pornographic focus. Image providers may, but are not required to, support non-explicit fictional adult toplessness; lower anatomy must remain covered or obscured, and genital display, explicit sex, sexual fluids, real-person sexual imagery, and photo-based sexual depictions are prohibited. Provider rules and capabilities vary, so Lorebraid does not guarantee that mature prose or images will be generated. A refused or unsafe request may be reduced to implication, coverage, lingerie, or fade-to-black, without attempts to evade provider safeguards. Public Story assets and public-safe shared images cannot contain nudity or erotic content.
Sensitive Content Contracts
A Story may include sexual violence only when the Story author declared it necessary to the Dramatic Spine, a non-spoiler warning is shown, and the reader explicitly accepts that Story contract. Any such treatment must involve adults, remain non-erotic and non-graphic, and cannot be invented or expanded by the engine. The Player Character cannot perpetrate sexual violence.
Generation allowance and charges
“Generation allowance” is the service measure used for eligible AI generation actions. It includes distinct sources with different rules: monthly-reset Subscription Quota, expiring grants or Merge Allowance, and purchased durable Top-up Credits. Generation allowance is not money, stored value, legal tender, or a transferable digital asset.
Lorebraid consumes available allowance in this order: Subscription Quota first; then Merge Allowance, promotional allowance, and grants as one group, using the earliest expiry first and then the oldest-created Lot. Non-expiring allowance in that group, including a Starter Grant, follows expiring Lots in oldest-created order. The oldest available Top-up Credits are consumed last. The Account view identifies the source, remaining units, expiry when applicable, pending reservations, and Reader-safe history.
A standard AI-generated Story Turn costs one Usage Unit only after its visible narrative and authoritative state reach Durable Settlement. Initial character creation, including its portrait workflow, costs five Usage Units after the durable character is saved. A reader-requested portrait regeneration or explicit Story Image costs five Usage Units only when an approved image is durably saved. Navigation, reading, form edits, saved-image reuse, rejected images, internal retries, and failed or uncommitted generation are free.
Lorebraid may reserve the quoted allowance before provider work begins. A reservation is pending, not a final charge. It settles only after the qualifying result is durable and is released on failure, cancellation, or terminal timeout. If no allowance is available, the Story and draft remain preserved, no provider generation starts, and you must explicitly continue after allowance becomes available.
Subscription Quota
A Lorebraid Subscription provides the Subscription Quota stated in the versioned Plan Offer for each paid monthly billing period. It does not sell permanent Credits. Only a verified authoritative paid-invoice event resets the quota. Unused Subscription Quota expires at the exact end of that paid period and does not accumulate, roll over, pool, convert to Credits, or trigger an automatic Top-up.
Cancellation stops future renewal. Quota from the current paid period remains usable through that period’s stated end and is not ordinarily refunded. A failed renewal does not reset allowance or remove Top-up Credits or Story access. Lorebraid may display non-blocking payment attention and provide Account Billing and Link controls to update payment details. If retries end without payment, the Subscription becomes inactive without creating new quota.
Top-up Credits
A Top-up is a one-time purchase of durable Credits under the versioned Plan Offer shown before checkout. Purchased Top-up Credits do not expire merely with time and have no generation-quality difference from other allowance. They remain available until consumed, refunded, reversed following a dispute, forfeited after Account Deletion, or reconciled during Service Shutdown.
Top-up Credits cannot be transferred, resold, gifted, exchanged for cash, or moved to another person’s account except through an approved refund or a lawful Account Merge of identities you control. Lorebraid does not currently offer automatic replenishment.
Plan Offers and Stripe
Every purchase is governed by the versioned Plan Offer shown before checkout. The current price, currency, billing cadence, allowance amount, and other offer details appear in that Plan Offer; Stripe shows applicable tax and final transaction details during checkout. Exact mutable prices are not fixed in these Terms. We will announce a new Plan Offer at least 30 days before applying a price increase or quota reduction. An offer accepted during its notice period is honored for that purchase, but permanent grandfathering is not promised.
Where purchasing is offered, Lorebraid uses Stripe Managed Payments with Link. Subject to Stripe eligibility and the checkout presented to you, Stripe acts as merchant of record and transaction authority for payment authorization, tax, receipts, refunds, disputes, and payment support. Stripe’s applicable buyer terms and policies also apply and control where they govern the transaction. Lorebraid does not use a separate standard-Stripe checkout fallback.
Only verified, idempotent authoritative Stripe events can fulfill a purchase, renew a Subscription, issue allowance, or establish a refund or dispute outcome. A redirect, browser success page, email, client claim, or Link payer email never grants value. While payment is processing, Lorebraid preserves the relevant draft and does not show optimistic allowance. If confirmed payment cannot be fulfilled to the immutable account that started checkout, Lorebraid does not redirect it by email; it sends the payment through the supported refund and incident process.
Refunds and disputes
A completely unused Top-up Lot may be submitted for a voluntary full refund within 14 days after its verified payment completes. It must also have no reservation, frozen or reversed value, or unresolved refund or dispute; its billing state must be clear or confirm that funds were retained. Once any part of that Lot has been consumed, it is not eligible for this voluntary refund. Subscription payments and partially used Top-ups are not ordinarily refundable except where required by law, required or approved by Stripe, duplicated or charged in error, or appropriate because Lorebraid could not deliver the paid service. Stripe’s merchant-of-record rules remain authoritative.
When a refund or Billing Dispute is pending, Lorebraid freezes the allowance attributable to that transaction. An open dispute also pauses Subscription renewal and new provider generation while preserving Story reading, committed content, unrelated Top-up value, and the Story itself. A retained-funds outcome restores the frozen value; a reversed-funds outcome removes the attributable value. If that value was already consumed, a Settlement Deficit blocks new generation until cleared. New Top-up Credits automatically clear the oldest Settlement Deficit before any remainder becomes spendable. Refunds and disputes never delete Story content.
Account Deletion and recovery
Account Deletion begins in Account settings with a consequence preview, recent authentication, acknowledgement, and exact confirmation. Once accepted, Lorebraid stops future Subscription renewal, revokes sessions, makes the account unavailable, and freezes its content and allowance for a 30-day recovery window.
A verified recovery link used within that window restores Journeys, content, and remaining balances, but it never restarts the cancelled Subscription. After the recovery deadline, Lorebraid permanently removes account content and remaining allowance. Limited redacted records may be retained where required for billing, security, fraud prevention, disputes, legal compliance, and deletion audit. Deletion does not create cash value for grants, Subscription Quota, Merge Allowance, or consumed Credits.
Service Shutdown
If Lorebraid closes the hosted service, it will stop new sales and Subscription renewals and, where practicable, provide at least 60 days’ notice before generation ends. A shorter period may be necessary for urgent legal, safety, security, provider, or infrastructure reasons. The published notice will state the sales, renewal, generation, and private account-export deadlines.
Lorebraid will reconcile the original unused paid value of Top-up Credits and the original value of paid Subscription time that cannot be delivered because of the shutdown, including payment-backed time later represented as Merge Allowance, using the original transaction currency and Stripe refund process. Prior refunds and consumed value are accounted for. Starter Grants, Beta Grants, other promotional allowance, and ordinary unused Subscription Quota by itself have no cash-refund value. Private account export remains available through the published export deadline.
Acceptable use and Lorebraid ownership
You may not use Lorebraid to create, request, upload, or distribute sexual or romantic content involving minors; non-consensual intimate imagery; unlawful sexual content; instructions for serious wrongdoing; malware; credential theft; or material that violates another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights. You may not harass, exploit, groom, threaten, stalk, dox, impersonate, defame, bypass safeguards, probe private administrator routes, access another user’s data, disrupt infrastructure, scrape the service, automate accounts, resell access, or create unreasonable legal, security, or operational risk.
Lorebraid and its licensors retain rights in the platform software, design, branding, interfaces, documentation, system prompts, safety systems, story-processing methods, and service materials excluding User Content. Subject to these Terms, Lorebraid grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the hosted service for its intended purpose.
Availability, changes, and third parties
We may add, remove, limit, suspend, or change features and providers; impose usage limits; or perform maintenance. If we stop offering the hosted service, the notice, paid-value reconciliation, and export commitments in Service Shutdown apply. We will try to avoid unnecessary loss of stored content but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, or compatibility with every asset. Retain independent copies of important source material and export your account periodically.
Lorebraid relies on third-party services for hosting, delivery, storage, databases, AI generation, email, authentication, and payments. Their availability and processing may be governed by their own terms and policies. We remain responsible for selecting and using service providers as required by applicable law, but are not responsible for third-party products outside Lorebraid’s reasonable control.
Disclaimers and general terms
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lorebraid is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lorebraid will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, opportunity, goodwill, content, or data. Lorebraid’s aggregate liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid for the Lorebraid hosted service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not apply where applicable law does not allow them.
The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum necessary and the remainder will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without permission; Lorebraid may transfer it as part of a legitimate service reorganization or ownership change.
Mandatory consumer law remains unaffected. Otherwise, these Terms are governed by the law applicable where the Lorebraid operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes may be brought before courts with lawful jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve it informally.
We may update these Terms as the service changes. Material changes may be announced through the service or by email. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the service and use Account settings to request deletion.
